Promoting diversity and social mobility in STEM
I promote social mobility in STEM by organizing outreach, delivering talks, and mentoring students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Through lab placements and guidance, I help equip them with the skills and confidence to pursue scientific careers.
As an advocate for promoting social mobility in STEM, I have been actively engaged across multiple institutions in creating opportunities for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to explore and pursue careers in science. This has included organizing and participating in outreach events, delivering talks, and contributing to workshops that provide practical insights into pathways within STEM. I have also taken a hands-on approach by hosting students in my own lab, offering them first-hand exposure to research environments, mentorship, and guidance on academic and career development. Through these efforts, I have sought not only to inspire students but also to equip them with the confidence, skills, and networks needed to overcome barriers and achieve their potential in STEM.
